We at Sojourner Presbyterian Church believe that one of the greatest joys and privileges of a believer is to worship the Lord in His very presence. To this end, we seek to let the Word of God inform and instruct our worship service, and therefore recognize that by way of covenant God initiates and concludes His worship through the Call to Worship and Benediction.

Here's what you can expect when you visit us:

Sermons: We have a high view of the Word of God, and therefore believe that it is one of the primary means of grace for the encouragement and edification of God’s people. Our sermons are expositional in that they are Christ-centered and explain the biblical text as well so that the richness of the passage is seen in light of the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Sacraments: We believe that Christ has instituted and ordained two sacraments: the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. Both are a means of grace by which Christ and His benefits are represented and ministered for the encouragement and edification of the believer. The Lord’s Supper is administered weekly while Baptism is administered when appropriate.

Music: The music we sing is simple, but worshipful. We seek to incorporate both hymns as well as contemporary songs that praise our great God and His mighty works. There is an overall emphasis and strong encouragement for the congregation to sing as one body with one voice.

Children: Our children are very much a part of our church as our adults, and we desire to help them grow in faith, to love Jesus, and to love his people. We encourage families to worship together, but we also provide a children’s program from ages 2-7 during service to help both parents and children not only grow in faith, but to learn to worship. For more information, click Children’s Ministry.

After Worship Service:

Fellowship: A time of fellowship with lunch follows immediately after the worship service, providing an opportunity for people to break bread together and enjoy one another’s company.

Adult Bible Study: Bible studies are held every Sunday after lunch and are led by the pastoral staff and elders who facilitate a discussion of the Word. The aim of the study is to allow brothers and sisters in the Lord to grow in the Word of God together by asking questions, offering insights, and thoughtfully applying the passage to individual lives and the church at large.

Children’s Sunday School: Sunday School is available for children ages 3 and older, and occurs during the same time as the adult bible study. Classes are organized by age group with bible study curriculum and arts/crafts catered to each class. We follow bible study curriculum produced by Great Commissions Publications.
