Children's Ministry Director
SoYeon grew up in Flushing, New York and lived there more than half of her life. She currently still lives in Flushing. She came to know the Lord at a retreat she attended when in high school. It was a time in her life where there was much confusion in terms of who she was and what she was supposed to do in life. She clearly remembers the pastor who basically preached the free offer of the Gospel, and to hear that Christ laid down his life for sinners in order that they may come to new life in Him and glorify Him moved her heart to faith and trust in this same Christ. It was at that moment that she realized that she too has been made anew and given what she had been looking for all her life, a purpose and an identity.
She graduated from City College of New York in 2001 with BA Degree and she received her M.Div. in Westminster Theological Seminary in 2010.
She has been a Bible teacher and counselor for Elementary School, Junior and Senior high schools students. She loves to work and deal with children and teens.
She also loves to watch fun movies and Japanese animations, but not serious or sad ones.
The Sojourner Presbyterian Church session consists of Pastor Francis Chang, the teaching elder, and six ruling elders. The six elders were ordained and installed in the fall of 2010. The elders of Sojourner dutifully seek to oversee the spiritual interests of the church, protect the church, oversee the faith of members and pray for them.
